The DuPage County Campus Pond project involved expanding stormwater capacity and converting a portion of the East Fairgrounds Pond into a wetland-bottom basin to enhance water quality and ecological value.
Key deliverables included increased stormwater storage through targeted earth excavation, strategic fill placement to reshape the pond, and the creation of a spoil pile in the campus’s northeast corner. Additional improvements included pavement removal and replacement, storm sewer upgrades, new pedestrian pathways, erosion control measures, native landscaping, riprap installation, and the establishment of new wetland habitat.
