Springinsguth West Branch DuPage River Stream Corridor Improvements
Hanover Park, IL
Phase 1 Completed April 2024
The Springinsguth West Branch DuPage River Stream Corridor Improvements project was phase one of a two phase restoration. The project included approximately 3,000 feet of stream corridor restoration focused on improving flow, stability, and habitat. Key elements included stream re-meandering, bank regrading, installation of vegetated stone toe protection, and in-stream riffle structures.
The work also involved removal of an existing sheet pile wall, installation of a water main beneath the stream, CIPP lining of a sanitary sewer, and grading to increase floodplain storage. The corridor was finished with native seeding and restoration planting to support long-term ecological health.
