Springinsguth West Branch DuPage River Stream Corridor Improvements

Village of Schaumburg

Phase 2 Completed September 2024

The Hanover–Schaumburg Springinsguth West Branch DuPage River Stream Corridor Improvements project was the second phase of a regional flood mitigation effort, delivered under a single contract co-owned through an intergovernmental agreement between the Villages of Hanover Park and Schaumburg. The project addressed a severely eroded drainage corridor, improving flow, adding flood storage, and restoring ecological function.

Work included nearly 80,000 cubic yards of earth excavation, 8,600 feet of shoreline stabilization, installation of cast-in-place box culverts, a custom-fabricated culvert safety grate, and precast modular retaining wall systems.
